Blogging for begginers

First of all I want to tell You this is my first blog , so I am just a starter , what came in my mind before choosing a topic I want to share with you all. In this post I’d like to outline a few questions that I tend to ask myself when considering a new topic. But first things first.

What is a blog?

A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called “blogging”. Individual articles on a blog are called “blog posts,” “posts” or “entries”. A person who posts these entries is called a “blogger”. A blog comprises text, hypertext, images, and links (to other web pages and to video, audio and other files). Often blogs focus on a particular “area of interest”, such as art, music, science etc

Why Blog?

A blog is a way to express your ideas and thoughts. I blog because,
• It lets your mind speak. You can put your views and thoughts forward to billions of people.
• It serves as a medium by which you can promote any product, company or any information. You can also publish your blog address on the company's visiting card.
• It helps to improve both your writing and reading skills. I strongly recommend students should blog to improve English
• When you start blogging, you also read others blog for ideas or information. It automatically broadens your views and helps you to stay updated.
• Don't need to learn HTML or other language, making blog is easy and simple.
• Most importantly you can earn while blogging and that too with no investment.

Monetise your blog?:

you can monetise with help of agencies like google adsense, adbrite, linkworth and others that provide ads to place on your blog, webpage or website and if someones click on the ad you earn money . They provide well written and highly relevant ads that are closely chosen to match the content on your pages. You do not have to look for them yourselves as the search engine will be the doing the searching for you from other people’s source.
You will be able to concentrate on providing good and quality content, as the search engines will be the ones finding the best ads in which to put your pages on.

Back to our main topic ... so how to choose a topic for your blog.

Are You Interested in the Topic?

If you are not interested than how others will others create an interest.
“Your blog should be about is to consider what YOU are about.”
Perhaps that’s a slightly awkward way of saying start by identifying your own interests, passions and energy levels for topics. The disadvantage may be others interest do not match and at same time it is tempting to start blogs what makes commercial sense There are two main reasons for this. But still topic must be interesting to you first because the reason is that you readers will quickly discern if you are passionate about your topic or not. Blogs that are dry and passionless don’t tend to grow - it makes sense really as no one wants to read something that the author does’t really believes in.

Is the Topic Popular?

While the blogger’s interest is important it’s not enough on it’s own to build a popular blog. Another crucial ingredient is that people WANT to read information on the topic you’re writing on. The law of Supply and Demand is what most business students are taught in their first semester of studying economics and it comes into play here also. You might be interested in your topic but unless others are also you’ll always have an uphill battle in building a highly read blog.
Of course keep in mind that you are writing in a medium with a global audience of many millions and as a result you don’t need a topic that everyone is searching, just one that some people are searching for because even it’s something that even a small percentage of people have an active interest in it can be a lucrative area.

Is the Topic one that is growing or shrinking?

Also keep in mind that popular topics change over time. Obviously it’s great to get on a topic before it becomes big rather than when it’s on the decline. This is not easy to do of course but predict the next big thing that people will be searching for and you could be onto a winner.

Will you have enough Content?

One of the key features of successful blogs is that have the ability to continue to come up with fresh content on their topic for long periods of time. Conversely, one of the things that kills many blogs is that their authors run out of things to say.
At this point it’s time to choose a topic for your blog. It’s probably unlikely that you’ll find the perfect topic on all of the fronts above. But most importantly choose a topic in which you are able to express yourself .After all blogging is for freedom of expression of mind .
